Whilst it's still a few weeks away from February's favourite day, we'd like to wish you a Happy Valentine's.
Why? *blushing*
The demo for Mass Effect 3 drops that day. That's right. The hugely anticipated, trilogy-ending March 8 release of Mass Effect 3, from developer BioWare, will be preceded by a mouth-watering demo of the game on February 14.
Yes, on Valentine’s Day. Date or Mass Effect 3?
(insert cruel gamer joke here)
The extensive demo will allow players to experience the all-out galactic war against the Reapers from multiple fronts, including the mind-blowing opening attack on Earth that kicks off the single-player campaign.
It will also give a taste of the franchise’s new multiplayer mode, and let them explore the customisation options that will be available.
Anyone familiar with the first two Mass Effect games knows that to play them is to love them.
As a First Person Shooter, and as a complex story for Sci Fi fans, Mass Effect is a world with few parallels.
There'll be action in ME3, but we're looking forward to the development of story and character - an aspect where Mass Effect games really shine.
If you're new to ME, you can choose the companions who will join you in the fight, and each has a detailed and interesting backstory, their own unique take on the situation. By the end, you’re fighting alongside friends.
It’s one of the finest, if not the finest, gaming franchises of the new millennium. Being excited to the point where you might just skip a Valentine's Day date isn't such a mystery.
Mass Effect 3 will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
It will also support full voice recognition functionality on Kinect for Xbox 360, which is sweet.
Here’s a trailer to tell you all about it:
Games Into Movies
There are so many possibilites, and such a bad track record. Could the Civ games become an epic adventure? What do you think of David O.Russel directing Drake's Fortune. Is Super Mario Bros. the worst game movie ever? Are the Tomb Raider movies as good as it gets?
2011 has quite literally been one of the best years in history for gamers. Batman: Arkham
