Become a part of 'The Bunyip Movie'

Okay, we’re skirting the outer limits of SFF here but in the interests of nurturing homegrown talent we thought we’d cut the new “crowd-sourced” 'The Bunyip Movie' a break and give them some love.

I mean, when was the last time you saw a really good Aussie Bunyip movie? Not since the 80’s, right?

Well, now two plucky young filmmakers – writer/star Denby Weller and director Miri Stone – are trying to get crowd-sourced funding up for their micro-budget, and as yet untitled, 'The Bunyip Movie'.

We're big fans of people who don't sit around and complain how 'they don't make horror films in Australia' or 'they don't make Sci Fi in Australia' but get out there and have a go. Thumbs up. If you too want to join the adventure of 'The Bunyip Movie' you can!


Here’s what the filmmakers have to say for themselves:




With competitions giving you the chance to name the film, and/or design the creature, the filmmakers are looking for anyone interested in supporting or getting involved in their opus. There’s still three acting roles to fill and many opportunities behind the scenes. Or you can just give them money.
