You may or may not have seen the trailers to Tarsem Singh's Immortals floating about the internet.
If you have, you may understand the excitement that's been building up. Releasing on the tremendous date of 11.11.11, it's like 300, but with more than one colour at a time. Maybe a bit of Clash of the Titans thrown in there too. But even more epic.
Starring the hairy-chested new Superman Henry Cavill and The Comeback King (recently dethroning Robert Downey Jr) Mickey Rourke, as well as John Hurt, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz and Stephen Dorff, it's a retelling of the adventures of Theseus, the mythical founder king of Athens, and known unfriend to Minotaurs. As the son of Poseidon, he has the the right heritage, but does he have what it takes to defend his Kingdom from mad King Hyperion? Only time and epic battle will tell.

We all new it was going to happen.
That VW, after launching an awesome Superbowl campaign featuring a cute-as-a-button Darth Vader, would have that campaign thrown back in their face by Greenpeace.
Wha?
Okay, so here's the deal. VW, according to Greenpeace is just as bad for the Planet Earth as the Death Star was for Planet Alderaan.
As the biggest car company in Europe, it has a huge carbon footprint.
Greenpeace, among other things, claims that Volkswagen was one of the driving forces in the lobbying campaign against emissions regulations standards in Europe and tougher emissions laws in the USA.

Videogame cocktail bar, the Mana Bar, will open its second venue in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, 16th of July 2011.
If you've been to The Mana Bar in Brisbane, then you know it combines quality cocktails with current generation console video games. A venue that is accessible to the general public, while still being credible to the hard-core gamers, it transcends the usual geek stereotype and allows people to socialise in a new and unique way.
Brisbane opened up in March 2010, and now, shock horror, it's become a huge success. The result - a planned national and then (dun dun daaah) international expansion. Aussie gamers will get the rest of the world's gamers drunk.

It'll be aired THIS Saturday, July 2 at 1:30pm and 10:15pm.

This is easily the dumbest movie you will see at a cinema this year.
If you can imagine a Star Wars filled to the brim with 'parsec' howlers, then you might come close to understanding why this movie is preposterous as a story. Imagine a Lord of the Rings trilogy where Hobbits regularly criss-cross the fires of Mt Doom on the backs of giant eagles, neglecting to chuck in The Ring, and you get the gist. It's Starship Troopers, but with zero irony.

INTERVIEWS Saturday, June 25 by Captain
William Shatner, the larger than life human being behind such iconic roles as James Tiberius Kirk, TJ Hooker and Denny Crane, turned 80 this year.
He also visited Australia, travelling in a whirlwind convention and speaking tour. This was the first time he'd been down under for 11 years and he was a marvel for fans - energetic, humorous, and filled with stories, he truly is a man to show the world just how to live. 'Live it your way!' could be his catch cry, because Shatner's mix of horse ranching, spoken word performing and acting is not something that you'll find that often. In anyone, let alone an octogenarian!

Greetings once again dear readers!
Thank you for joining me once again, as I do what I do best - keep you all up to date on what’s going on in the world of geekdom! Not much to report this week from me, given I’ve had my head buried in Star Wars books all week (‘That’s a change’ I hear you think) as I’m running the role playing game this weekend. Should be a lot of fun. Moving along…
We start this week with some bad news: it’s been confirmed we won’t have a full season of Doctor Who next year. 14 episodes (Including a Christmas special) will be made, but we’ve no word as of yet when they’ll air. Harrumph. Meanwhile, star Matt Smith has kept himself busy, appearing in a 24 Hour Play event as a somewhat confused Batman.
